What is CBSC ?

CBSC is an abbreviation of Central Board of Secondary Education. It is the premier education board of our country. All the schools under CBSE are run by the Central Government and it was established on 03 November 1962. All the private and public schools under it are run from the capital Delhi. CBSE schools have two mediums of education, NCERT books are used in Hindi and English and their curriculum.

History of CBSE ?
The first teaching board to be established in India became the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education (UP Board full form) in 1921, which was under the jurisdiction of Rajasthan, Central India and Gwalior. In 1929, the Government of India established a joint board called “Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana”. It includes Ajmer, Merwara, Central India and Gwalior. Later it was also brought to Ajmer, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, it was named “Central Board of Secondary Education” . CBSC Full Form

About CBSE
CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary Education. It was formed on November 3, 1962 and was headquartered in New Delhi, India. It is affiliated to 16000 schools in India and around 24 other countries of the world. The affiliation given to schools is up to a higher secondary level which includes all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by the Central Government of India.
The board is responsible for conducting the final examinations for students of class 10th and 12th, All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for classes 10 and 12, every spring as well as an entrance examination for engineering student – For AIEEE and Medical Students – AIPMT.
About ICSE
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) conducts an examination of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE). India has a non-government board of education up to 10th standard, and after 10th standard, ICSE becomes an ISC (Indian School Certificate). There are more than 1000 schools associated with the board, Indian and other countries of the world.
What is the difference between ICSE and CBSE?
The distinction between CBSE and ICSE board can be clearly drawn on the following grounds:
- CBSE is an acquaintance for the Central Board of Secondary Education, which is the most board of education that affiliates public and private schools in India and other countries. The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education is an examination conducted in the curriculum of general education as per the New Education Policy, 1986.
- CBSE is a board while ICSE is a school certificate exam. After 10th standard, ICSE becomes ISC (Indian School Certificate). ICSE has a Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) as compared to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is a private / non-government board of education.
- In ICSE, the medium of examination is English only. Unlike CBSE, where the medium of examination can be English or Hindi. CBSC Full Form
- CBSE results only display the grades of the students. On the other hand, ICSE declares two result sheets, one showing the grade while the other is obtained by the student. CBSC Full Form
