The unique name or address of a website from which it is known, recognized and used on the Internet is called its URL. It is also called Uniform Resource Locator. The general form of a web address is as follows.
Here type tells the type of the server from which that file is available and address tells the address of that site. For example, the URL of a web portal http://www.yahoo.com has the type of http server and www.yahoo.com is its address. When we want to open a website, its URL is typed in the address box. If no server type is provided, it is assumed to be http. We can also open that web page directly by adding the path of a web page to the URL of its website. URL Full Form

How does Google URL work?
The URL has been designed in such a way that it is easy for people to remember it. But the computer needs information to identify the right website so that it can easily locate the right website. Our browser uses its IP to browse a webpage. IP which we also know as Internet Protocol. This is a series of IP numbers which looks something like this 126.96.36.199 URL Full Form
Just imagine how difficult it would have been if we had to remember all the websites by their IP address. And the wants of internet are probably not as many as they are in this world today. Let me tell you this thing that not all websites have static URLs. Some keep changing from time to time, due to which it is very difficult to reach them. URL Full Form

Type Of URLs
Messy: These are those types of URLs in which there are many numbers and letters from which some oraganization sense comes. For example, ‘http://www.example.com/woeiruwoei909305820580’. Generally these URLs are generated by the computer which creates thousands of web pages for the same domain name. URL Full Form
Dynamic: These URLs are also originated from the same place where Messy URLs came from. These URLs are the end result of a database query that provides content output in the result of any query. These also look like Messy URLs in which characters like ?,&,%,+,=,$ appear. They are mainly used in the websites used by the consumer such as any shopping, traveling websites in which the users keep changing their queries frequently so that the answers also keep changing.
Static: These are the exact opposite of any dynamic URL. This URL is completely hard wired with the webpage’s HTML coding. This URL never changes, no matter what the user is requesting.
Obfuscated: This is a very dangerous URL which is used in Phishing Scam. As its name suggests, they are hidden. Which is used very cleverly so that it looks completely original. So when a user clicks it, he redirects them to Malicious Website.
What is the most secure URL?
Secure URLs are websites that start with https:// The URL of such a website is called Secure Url. Which means that even if you enter your personal information in such a website, it gets encrypted before it is transmitted and it is not so easy for any hacker to read it.
For the same reason, if a website asks you about your personal things like your banking details etc. then first of all do not forget to check whether it is a secure URL or not. And such a website should use some Security Protocol in its URL so that the consumer’s information is not misused. I advise you to take special care of all these things before giving any personal information.
Why characters are not used in URLs
We all must know that space is not used in the URL. But we should also know that according to RFC 1738, only alphanumeric characters and other characters like !,$,-,_,*,’,() are used in the string of URL. And if any other characters are used then it has to be encoded.
